I still can’t believe I have an actual one year old! They say time flies when you’re a mom and it’s the truest thing EVER. I knew from the beginning that her first birthday party would be Lemon/Italy themed but Covid definitely threw a wrench in my plans. We ended up having two celebrations. One on her actual birthday and a zoom party on the weekend . In the end, all that really mattered to me was that she had a good time and that we created a memory of her birthday that none of us would ever forget.
Her Birthday
On Capri’s actual birthday, Brandon and I took off work so we could spend the entire day with her. We both sang Happy Birthday to her first thing in the morning and then surprised her with a mini cake and some presents at lunch. That night we took her to Nights Of Lights and she absolutely LOVED it. She sat on my lap the entire time (it’s a drive through maze in a parking lot filled with tons of magical Christmas lights). It was my favourite part of the entire day <3
The Zoom Party
I went allll out for this. I figured she only turns one once so I wanted to really go for it. Everything from the cake to the plates and even our outfits were lemon themed. We had 40 family members join on zoom to watch her smash her cake. It was hectic but SO special.
Here’s a full breakdown:
Cakes by Robert made the lemon themed cake and cupcakes. I knew exactly what I wanted the cake and cupcakes to look like and my vision truly came to life.
Baked with Joy made the adorable lemon cookies.
The decor, napkins, tablecloth, runner and paper plates and cups were all from amazon. Links below!
All in all it was a magical few days celebrating our baby girl.I can’t believe she’s actually one! Time needs to slow down!
